Load Balancer
Requests pour in from the internet. Point the router at a server to send them there, keep every server under 100%, and do not drop ten requests.
How to play
- Click a server (or press 1–4, or the up and down arrows) to point the router at it. New requests go wherever it points.
- Each request adds load: pages a little, images more, video a lot. Servers work the load off by themselves.
- web-02 is big and fast; the legacy box is old and slow. Over 100% and a server crashes and reboots.
- Requests sent to a crashed server are dropped. Drop ten and your shift is over. Watch out for traffic spikes and cron jobs.
